While trying to educate myself about 401(K), I came across this YouTube video produced by Bloomberg titled "The Truth Behind Hidden Fees in 401(K)". I'm not sure if this problem applies to everybody or not. One of the things that frustrate me most about most retirement plan is the lack of options. You are limited to certain number of funds that are made available to you. I like more options. Let me make my own mistakes.

Price Check Experiment: Is Costco really worth it?
From: Squawkfox.com
So weigh the cost convenience and gas cost and make your judgment accordingly.
"I tend to do this little price comparison check every few months to make sure I’m getting the best value for my food dollar. If you’ve been checking out of your grocery store without checking in with the prices lately, it’s a good idea to run your own food bill price check — a better dinner deal may found elsewhere."

Philip Zimbardo - The Secret Powers of Time
Dr. Zimbardo is quite famous for his Stanford basement research, aka Stanford Prison Experiment, which then lead on to his famous "Lucifer Effect" book. I think Dr. Zimbardo research on the secret powers of time, however, is quite revolutionary and very relevant in today's society. This video can possible alter the way you live your life. Watch this condense version of his speech by RSA, but I highly recommend watching his full presentation here

Khan Academy
This website was recommended by Bill Gates on his tweet. This is an excellent website for you to learn about new subjects that you are interested in but have missed in college or high school. I like the availability and the accessibility of the courses being offered. It kind of reminds me of Craigslist.

Young Japanese - Post Bubble Generation
An excellent New York Times Op-Ed article by Professor Norihiro Kato of Waseda University. Link
We can see this shift starting to happen here in the US. The debt-laden generation will less likely to spend like their parents' generation did.
"These are the Japanese who came of age after the bubble, never having known Japan as a flourishing economy. They are accustomed to being frugal. Today’s youths, living in a society older than any in the world, are the first since the late 19th century to feel so uneasy about the future.
I saw young Japanese in Paris, of course, vacationing or studying, but statistics show that they don’t travel the way we used to. Perhaps it’s a reaction against their globalizing elders who are still zealously pushing English-language education and overseas employment. Young people have grown less interested in studying foreign languages. They seem not to feel the urge to grow outward. Look, they say, Japan is a small country. And we’re O.K. with small. "

Pomodoro Technique
This is a good technique to help you concentrate, especially in the world of multitasking. I believe single tasking is best. I've been using this technique for a while now. There are a couple of decent Apps for your phone or use desktop version "Focus Booster".
